Wood-Lane Transition Coaching

Are you going through a transitional phase in your life and don’t know where to turn? Have you found yourself at what feels like a dead end or feel stuck in a rut that you want to leave behind?

As we go through life, we go through many transitions. At times these transitions are brought on by unexpected life challenges, by natural transitional phases, and sometimes even by joyful new blessings. For instance, in the unexpected life challenges area, perhaps a divorce or unexpected death has occurred in your life which has left you feeling lost and bewildered. Examples of natural transitional phases might include aging parents who suddenly need more assistance or care; an empty nest situation; or career changes or goals. Even joyful new blessings such as getting married, becoming a parent, or becoming a Christian can be stressful and difficult.

In the past, families often remained in the same communities for generations and many of these situations were discussed with parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, or even grandparents. I know my own parents and family helped me through so many changes in my life. In the current modern world, however, families often live far apart or relationships are such that turning to family for guidance isn’t possible or advisable.

That’s where I, as your transitional coach, can fill in some of those gaps and help with whatever life transition you might be dealing with at the current time. I am not a counselor. I am not a psychologist. Rather, I am a coach who will help you define your goals and the steps necessary to get you on the path to reach your goals with encouragement and prayer along the way.

You are probably wondering what qualifies me to assist you as a transitional coach. Let me tell you a little bit about myself and my history. First of all, I am a 53 year old Christian woman, mother of two grown sons, and have just celebrated my 20th wedding anniversary with my second husband.

I have years of life experience and assisting others in transitional phases of their lives. Some of my personal life experiences include:

**Two sons born within 13.5 months of one another in my early 20’s.

**Divorce and single parenthood for 5 years.

**Aging parent care while raising my own children.

**Remarriage with children.

**Family issues with addiction and mental health disorders.

**Empty nest and aging issues.

**Loss of three siblings and both parents by the time I was 45.

**Chronic pain and fatigue issues with fibromyalgia.

Despite going through these challenges and transitions, I am more at peace, content and joyful right now at this moment in my life than I’ve ever been before! I have a stronger faith in God and Jesus than ever before and know that without them, I would not have this peace, joy and contentment.

What I want to share with people is how to make it through the transitions and challenges of  life through self-discovery, goal-setting, planning, and, most of all, God’s love, grace and continual presence.

I studied English and Psychology at Texas Tech University, worked for many years in the health care field and then in higher education at Texas Tech and Colorado College. I am a poet and a writer as well. I’ve definitely led a very interesting life and I’m excited about the years ahead!

Currently I am offering a free one hour consultation so we can meet one another and decide if we’re a good fit to work together to meet your goals. We can meet via phone call, FaceTime, Google Hangouts, IM or if you live in the Colorado Springs, Colorado area in real life! (What a concept!)

“This is my command–be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”  Joshua 1:9
